Missing Teens Found `Safe,’ Sheriff’s Official Says

by Contributing Editor

Two teenage sisters who went missing from Hemet three days ago were found unharmed Thursday.

“The girls were located, and they are safe,” Riverside County sheriff’s Cpl. Lionel Murphy told City News Service.

Murphy declined to say where the pair had been, what they might have been doing or how authorities located them.

Reports had indicated that 14-year-old Abigail Arres and 16-year-old Hattie Arres might have traveled to Riverside after leaving their family home in the 44000 block of Compiegne Drive on Monday.

The girls’ parents told detectives that they had never run away or left without leaving word with loved ones previously.
