LAFD: 70 percent containment on Colorado brushfire, Glendale firefighter injured

Firefighters were still working Tuesday morning to fully douse the brushfire smoldering near the 2/134 freeway interchange.
Margaret Stewart, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles Fire Department, said the Colorado fire was 70 percent contained as of 8 a.m.
Containment is how much of a fire’s perimeter where flames can no longer advance.
The fire, which started just southeast of the freeway interchange in Glendale, jumped the 134 and spread to hillsides near Glen Oaks Canyon and had burned 45 acres so far. But there were no longer any active flames.
A Glendale firefighter suffered a minor injury yesterday while fighting the fire but details on it have not been disclosed. Glendale Fire Department officials have not yet responded to a request for information.
No structures had been threatened.
Still, all of the connectors between the northbound 2 and westbound 134 freeways remained closed Tuesday, according to Caltrans.
An offramp from the 2 to Holly Drive was also closed. All other lanes were open.
