by City News Service

EAGLE ROCK — A woman was injured Wednesday when a vehicle crashed and sparked a brush fire on the eastbound 134 Freeway in the Eagle Rock area.

The crash was reported about 9 a.m. near Argus Drive, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department and the California Highway Patrol.

The woman was taken to a hospital in unknown condition, and firefighters extinguished the quarter-acre fire in about 40 minutes, the LAFD reported.

Authorities closed the eastbound 134 Freeway at the nearby 2 Freeway to limit traffic from entering the area while crews worked to clear debris from the roadway, the CHP reported.
