Air and ground crews battled a brush fire that grew to nearly 30 acres in Santa Clarita, south of Agua Dulce on Sunday, Aug. 25.
The blaze was first reported at 12:14 p.m. near the intersection the Agua Dulce Canyon Road and the 14 Freeway, Los Angeles County Fire Capt. Ron Singleton said. It burned 28.3 acres before teams managed to halt the forward progress of flames at about 2:30 p.m.
Roughly 100 personnel and four helicopters took part in firefighting efforts, Singleton said. No injuries were reported, and no structures were threatened.
The fire prompted transit officials to temporarily close the two left lanes of the southbound 14 Freeway.
