Man, 77, Killed By Car in Newport Beach Identified By OC Coroner

A 77-year-old man who was struck and killed by a car in Newport Beach was identified Sunday by the Orange County coroner’s office.

Carlos Romo of Newport Beach was struck on a Newport Beach street Friday about 8:30 p.m., according to the coroner’s office.

Romo died at the scene, the coroner reported.

It was not clear whether the driver was cited. Police were investigating the crash.
