Person Struck, Killed by Train in Indio

A person was struck and killed by a Southern Pacific train early Saturday in Indio, police said.

A body was found at about 12:15 a.m. near railroad tracks in the vicinity of Indio Boulevard and Sun Gold Street, according to the Indio Police Department.

The Union Pacific Police Department was leading the death investigation with the help of Indio police.

The identity of the victim was not disclosed.
