Orange County sheriff’s were in a standoff in Laguna Hills Monday with a suspect accused of assaulting his father with a knife.
The 34-year-old man began barricading himself in a house in the 25000 block of Costeau Street about 3 p.m., said Orange County sheriff’s Sgt. Dennis Breckner.
Deputies were “familiar” with the house as there have been calls for service there before, Breckner said.
The suspect had a conflict with his father and allegedly assaulted him with a knife, Breckner said.
“Basically, he’s refusing to come out,” Breckner said just before 8 p.m.
