Woman Shot Dead in Koreatown Attack

A woman was killed Saturday morning in a shooting in Koreatown.

Police responded at 1:10 a.m. to a shooting near the intersection of Council Street and Mariposa Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

A woman was sitting in a vehicle when the suspect approached and fired shots, said Officer Rosario Cervantes of the LAPD’s Media Relations Section.

The suspect fled on foot, southbound on Mariposa Avenue, Cervantes said.

A motive for the shooting was unknown, and no suspect description was released.
