Two men were arrested and accused of leading deputies on a pursuit in a stolen vehicle that ended when they crashed into a home in Moreno Valley, displacing the seven people who lived there, sheriff’s officials said Sunday.

The driver, Higiniodaniel Suarez, 32, sped off when deputies attempted to pull him over just before 2 p.m. Saturday in the 14000 block of Linnett Drive, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

However, he did not get very far. Suarez crashed into a home in the 23000 block of Vought Street, off Cottonwood Avenue, about two miles away, said Sgt. Jose Ayala.

Suarez and his passenger, Andre Mitchell, 29, were taken to a hospital with injuries sustained in the crash and arrested.

Suarez was booked into jail on suspicion of possessing a stolen vehicle, driving under the influence of alcohol and felony evading.

Mitchell was booked on suspicion of resisting arrest, being under the influence of a controlled substance and violating the terms of his probation.

The five adults and two children who were displaced were not home when the crash occurred, sheriff’s officials said.
