Man Killed in Bassett Park Shooting ID’d

A man shot to death in Bassett Park in the unincorporated West Valinda area near Industry was a resident of Baldwin Park, authorities said Monday.
Christopher Perez was 23-years-old, according to the coroner’s office.
Deputies responded at 11:20 p.m. Friday to a call of gunshots heard in the park, located in the 500 block of North Vineland Avenue, where they found the victim, who had sustained several gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
A motive for the shooting or description of the shooter were not available.
