Man Fatally Shot In Unincorporated Area Near Gardena

A man was fatally shot Tuesday afternoon in the unincorporated Alondra Park area near Gardena, but details were sketchy.
The shooting occurred about 4:10 p.m. in the 14700 block of Chadron Avenue, near West 147th Street, according to Deputy Trina Schrader of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The victim, whose name was not immediately released, was pronounced dead at the scene, Schrader said.
No information about the suspect was available, and authorities urged anyone with information to call the sheriff’s Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500. Those wishing to report anonymously can call 800-222-TIPS.
