A man was shot to death Sunday evening in Compton.

It was reported at 8:40 p.m. in the 700 block of Compton Boulevard, according to Deputy Armando Viera Jr. of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, Viera said.

Homicide detectives were conducting an on-scene investigation, he said.
