Woman Dies, Two Hurt in Crash in Central-Alameda Area

A woman died, a boy was critical and a man was also injured in a crash in the Central-Alameda area of Los Angeles.
The crash occurred at 6:35 p.m. near the 4300 block of South Hooper Avenue, according to a desk officer at the Los Angeles Police Department’s Operations Center.
One vehicle was eastbound on 43rd Street when it collided with a vehicle that was southbound on Hooper Avenue, the officer said. The eastbound vehicle then struck two pedestrians, a woman believed about 30-years-old and a 9-year-old boy, he said.
A man about 20-years-old suffered injuries not believed to be life-threatening, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department’s Margaret Stewart who said paramedics took all three to hospitals for treatment.
The woman was pronounced dead at a hospital, the LAPD desk officer said. Her name was not released pending notification of relatives.
The crash was being investigated by Los Angeles Police Department’s Central Traffic Division.
