Authorities Seek Help To Locate Missing Diamond Bar Man

Authorities continued their search Thursday for a 21-year-old man who went missing in Diamond Bar in July and may have been headed to Northern California or Wyoming.

Matthew Jeffrey Don McCarty was last seen on July 26 at his home in the 2900 block of Castle Rock Road, near Cold Spring Lane, according to Deputy Armando Viera of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

McCarty’s family told authorities he left his home in a red 2011 Chevrolet HHR crossover sport utility vehicle with California license plate 6TJK828, Viera said.

McCarty is Black, stands 5-feet-11 inches tall, and weighs about 175 pounds. He has brown eyes, black hair and glasses, according to Viera.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts was urged to call the sheriff’s Missing Persons Unit at 323-890-5500 or 911. Tipsters can call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS.
