Thirteen vehicles were towed and a motorist was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving during an overnight driver’s license/sobriety checkpoint in Pomona, police said Saturday.

The Pomona Police Department also reported that 27 drivers were cited or arrested for operating a vehicle unlicensed or with a suspended/revoked license.

The checkpoint at Garey and Lexington avenues began at 9 p.m. Friday and ended Saturday at 3 a.m.

DUI checkpoints are placed in locations based on collision statistics and frequency of DUI arrests, police said.
