One Person Killed in Angeles National Forest Crash in Tujunga

A person died Sunday evening when a vehicle went over the side of a cliff in the Angeles National Forest in Tujunga.

The crash happened on Angeles Crest Highway at mile marker 33.50, and was reported at 7:16 p.m., the California Highway Patrol reported.

As of 9 p.m., search-and-rescue workers were making their way down the cliff to retrieve the body, the CHP reported.

There was no immediate word yet on the gender or age of the victim, whose name will be withheld pending family notification.

It was unknown how the crash happened. No other victims were reported and no other vehicles were reported to be involved.
