Fiery Wildomar Crash Turns Deadly

At least one person died Sunday evening when a speeding SUV went off the Temecula Valley (15) Freeway in Wildomar, down an embankment and burst into flames.

It was reported at 6:10 p.m. on the southbound side of the freeway near the intersection of Olive and Grape streets, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Witnesses told the CHP the SUV was passing vehicles on the left side at more than 90 mph before it went down an embankment and landed near the intersection of Olive and Grape streets, bursting into flames.

There was one confirmed fatality, the Riverside County Fire Department said. No other injuries were immediately reported.
