An alleged pimp pleaded not guilty Friday to raping a prostitute from Nevada who he met after she was abandoned in the Southland.
Anthony Larue Jackson Jr., 39, is charged with human trafficking, pimping, pandering, kidnapping to commit robbery, rape, sodomy by force, forcible oral copulation and assault with a firearm.
He is scheduled to return to court Nov. 23 for a pretrial hearing in the Central Justice Center in Santa Ana.
Co-defendant Marquesah Troycine Fox, 34, is charged with human trafficking, pimping, pandering, kidnapping to commit robbery and assault with a deadly weapon, according to court records. Her arraignment Friday in the jail courtroom in Santa Ana was rescheduled for Nov. 20.
The victim came to Southern California from Nevada, where she was stranded, Anaheim police Sgt. Steve Pena said.
Jackson and Fox met her and took her under their wing, but ordered her to work as a prostitute throughout the Southland, including in Ontario before they came to Anaheim, Pena alleged.
The victim managed to get away Tuesday and get help from Anaheim police, who arrested the defendants on Wednesday, Pena said.
