Three people, including a 1-year-old boy, were hospitalized Saturday morning with injuries sustained in a three-vehicle, hit-and-run crash in South Los Angeles involving a Los Angeles Police Department vehicle.

The crash was reported in the 1300 block of West 37th Street, near Normandie Avenue, about 9:45 p.m. Friday, according to Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Police took an undetermined number of suspects into custody in connection with the hit-and-run, LAPD Officer Drake Madison said.

Paramedics took a 40-year-old man, a 1-year-old boy and a 17-year-old girl to a hospital in unknown condition. The officer and a fifth person declined to be taken to a hospital, Stewart said.

Further details of the crash were not available from police.
