Over 10,000 Marijuana Plants Chopped At Illegal Jurupa Valley Warehouse

More than 10,000 cannabis plants were chopped down and 60 dried pounds seized when sheriff’s deputies raided an illegally converted Jurupa Valley warehouse, authorities said Friday.
The raid happened Wednesday about 7 p.m. in the 3400 block of De Forest Circle, according to Riverside County sheriff’s Sgt. Raul Armendariz.
Bruce Young, 34, of Eastvale was arrested on suspicion of illegal marijuana cultivation, possessing marijuana for sale and maintaining a drug house. He was released after making $10,000 bail.
Following an unspecified complaint and subsequent investigation, sheriff’s personnel served a search warrant at the warehouse, where 10,133 growing plants were cut down, and five dozen pounds of processed marijuana ready for sales was confiscated.
City code enforcement and Southern California Edison personnel responded to conduct separate investigations into building code and electrical-based violations. Deputies did not indicate power was stolen as part of the operation.
It was not immediately known how long the grow had been there.
No commercial cannabis cultivation operations have been licensed in Jurupa Valley or in any unincorporated communities within Riverside County.
