Two juveniles were rescued from a rip tide off of Dockweiler Beach Thursday evening.
The Los Angeles Police Department received a call about 7:20 p.m. about “a couple of kids” in the water near the intersection of Vista Del Mar and Imperial Highway, in Playa Del Rey, according to Officer Tony Im.
An adult was able to get out of the water without assistance, but two teenagers were caught in a rip tide and screamed for help, which alerted two surfers on the beach, according to KCAL9. The surfers swam out and rescued the teens.
Everyone was out of the water by 7:32 p.m., Im said.
All three people were “alert and oriented” and “not in medical distress,” according to Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department, which did not take anyone to a hospital as of 8:15 p.m.
