Woman Strangled in Compton

Deputies responding to a family disturbance Tuesday afternoon in Compton arrived to find a woman strangled and another woman was detained.

Deputies were dispatched about 4:15 p.m. to the 15000 block of South Wadsworth Avenue, near Roy Campanella Park, according to Deputy Eric Ortiz of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

The victim, whose name was not released, was pronounced dead at the scene, Ortiz said.
