Lawndale Man’s Death Remains Under Investigation

Investigators Sunday are trying to figure out what led to the fatal shooting of a man in Lawndale.
South Los Angeles Station deputies responded to a report of a gunshot victim at 5 p.m. Saturday in the 15900 block of Freeman Avenue, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
They found a man lying in the street who had been shot multiple times, said Deputy Maria Lucero, of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man, who was at least 50 years old, died at 2:40 p.m. Saturday, according to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.
Investigators have not yet released suspect information. No additional details were available.
