Man Accused of Incident Exposure Incidents in La Quinta Due in Court

by Contributing Editor

A 19-year-old man accused of publicly exposing himself several times in La Quinta is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday in Indio.

Christopher Duran Jr. of Thermal is charged with three counts incident exposure and three counts of attempted incident exposure, all misdemeanors, for alleged crimes involving six female victims between Nov. 28, 2019, and April 30, 2020.

Duran’s arrest was the culmination of an investigation spanning several months by deputies from the La Quinta Special Enforcement Team, which was looking into “a series of indecent exposure incidents that were occurring in the area of Avenue 58 and Madison Street,” according to Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. David Aldrich.

Deputies on May 5 located a vehicle belonging to a person thought responsible for the crimes and made a traffic stop, detaining Duan in the same area where the alleged incidents were reported.

Duran was arrested after he was “positively identified as a suspect,” Aldrich said, although it was not immediately clear whether it was an alleged victim who confirmed Duran was the man responsible.

The ages of the alleged victims were not disclosed.

Duran is out of custody on $5,000 bail.
