Jogger Struck in Desert Hot Springs Intersection

A jogger suffered serious injuries when struck by a vehicle in Desert Hot Springs Wednesday afternoon, police said.
The collision was reported at 1:23 p.m. at the intersection of Palm Drive and Hacienda Avenue, according to the Desert Hot Springs Police Department.
The victim, whose name and age were not released, was running westbound on Hacienda Avenue “outside of a marked crosswalk” when struck by a Nissan Altima driven by an 85-year-old motorist — who was traveling on the same street and in the direction.
The jogger was transported to an area hospital suffering from injuries described as major, police said.
