GRANADA HILLS — A motorcyclist was killed Tuesday night in a crash involving two other vehicles on the eastbound 118 Freeway in Granada Hills.

The crash occurred on the connector road to the southbound 405 Freeway at 10:45 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

The motorcyclist was thrown from the motorcycle and landed in the westbound lanes of the freeway while the motorcycle remained in the eastbound lanes, the CHP said. It was unclear if anyone in the other two vehicles was injured.

The Balboa Boulevard and Hayvenhurst Avenue on-ramps to the eastbound Ronald Reagan Freeway were closed until further notice. All lanes of the freeway were briefly closed at Woodley Avenue about 11:05, but quickly reopened, the CHP said.

An investigation into the cause of the crash was underway.

The name of the victim was not disclosed.
