Man Charged with Molesting Girl 15 Years Ago in OC

A domestic violence incident between a 36-year-old man and his wife in Laguna Hills led to his arrest on charges of molesting a child some 15 years ago, according to an Orange County sheriff’s deputy.

Juan Ramon Escobar was arrested Monday after sheriff’s deputies were sent to a Laguna Hills hotel, according to Orange County sheriff’s Sgt. Dennis Breckner.

Escobar was subsequently linked to a warrant charging him with molesting a 10-year-old child in February 2004 and June and July 2005, Breckner said.

Escobar knew the youngster, but Breckner would not disclose further details of their relationship or the gender of the victim, who was allegedly molested in several locations in south Orange County.

Escobar is charged with eight felony counts of lewd or lascivious acts with a minor younger than 14, according to court records. He’s being held without bail pending arraignment scheduled for Aug. 21, according to jail records.
