Long Beach Man Arrested in Killing of Wife

by Contributing Editor

A 74-year-old Long Beach man accused of killing his wife was being held Thursday on $2 million bail.

Henry Allen was booked on suspicion of murder in the death of Debbie Allen, 63, the Long Beach Police Department reported.

About 11:35 a.m. Wednesday, officers went to the 1000 block of Harding Street on an “unknown trouble call” and found the victim’s decomposing body. She had suffered “wounds to her upper torso,” according to police.

“The calling party responded to the residence to check the well-being of the residents, after not hearing from them in the past few days,” a police statement said. “Upon arriving, the calling party observed suspicious circumstances and called the Long Beach Police Department.”

Police learned the victim had lived at the location with her husband and started looking for him. He was arrested in the San Bernardino County community of Barstow.
