Thirty-Nine Suspects, Some Looters, Arrested in Glendale Over Two Days

Thirty-nine people, including suspected looters, were arrested over a two-day period in Glendale, which did not have any organized protests tied to last week’s in-custody death of George Floyd in Minneapolis, police said Tuesday.
The arrests occurred Sunday and Monday, and many of the suspects did not live in Glendale, according to Sgt. Christian Hauptmann of the Glendale Police Department.
“It raises the question, what were they doing in Glendale after curfew?” Hauptmann said.
Four of the suspects were caught Monday burglarizing a pharmacy in the 1200 block of South Central Avenue, near West Palmer Avenue, and three other suspects were arrested after attempting to burglarize a pharmacy in the 1300 block of East Colorado Street, two blocks from South Chevy Chase Drive, Hauptmann said.
Other arrests included individuals suspected of possessing burglary tools or stolen property, committing firearm violations or violating the 5 p.m. curfew, despite warnings, according to Hauptmann.
Glendale did not have any organized protests against police brutality on Sunday, Monday or Tuesday, Hauptmann said.
