Man Arrested For Allegedly Possessing Unregistered, Semi-Automatic Rifle

by Contributing Editor

Pomona police Monday arrested a local resident for allegedly possessing an unregistered semi-automatic rifle, high-capacity magazines and a large amount of ammunition.

Officers saw a vehicle without a license plate being driven “erratically” about 11:55 a.m. and found the weapons and ammunition during a traffic stop in the 2000 block of South Garey Avenue, near Lexington Avenue, according to Pomona police Sgt. Scott Hess.

Edgar Tiscareno Duran, 31, of Pomona, was prohibited from owning or possessing any firearms, and the rifle was not serialized, the sergeant said.

Duran was being held in lieu of $35,000 bail, he said.
