by Contributing Editor

A 95-year-old man who was struck and killed by a vehicle in Tustin was identified Sunday by the Orange County coroner’s office.

Francisco Juarez of Tustin was hit about 6:20 a.m. Tuesday, at Red Hill Avenue and San Juan Street and died at the scene, according to the Orange County Fire Authority and the coroner’s office.

“The preliminary investigation revealed Juarez entered the roadway on Red Hill Avenue south of San Juan Street and was struck by a vehicle traveling southbound on Red Hill Avenue,” Tustin Police Sgt. Matt Nunley said.

“Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor in the collision,” Nunley said. “The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.”

Anyone with information on the case was asked to call Tustin police at 714-573-3218.
