Authorities Seek Suspect Who Led Police on Pursuit in Garden Grove

by Contributing Editor

Police are seeking public help to identify a man who led police on a pursuit in Garden Grove Thursday.

About 9:45 Thursday morning, officers from the Garden Grove Police Department attempted to pull over a vehicle that was reported stolen from Anaheim, according to Sgt. Nick Jensen of the Garden Grove Police Department.

The driver fled westbound on Chapman Avenue from Euclid Street, and officers pursued the vehicle until it collided with a pole on Dale Street, north of Ball Road, and the driver fled the vehicle on foot, Jensen said.

The Garden Grove Police Department, Anaheim Police Department and Orange County Sheriff’s Department established a perimeter and conducted a yard-to-yard search, but the suspect evaded authorities, Jensen said.

The suspect was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, gray shorts and black baseball hat, according to Jensen.

The agencies are continuing to investigate and encourage anyone with information about the case to contact the Garden Grove Police Department at 714-741-5800.
