Pedestrian Struck by Vehicle on Freeway in Lancaster, Killed

A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and killed on the Antelope Valley (14) Freeway in Lancaster, authorities said Thursday morning.

The crash was reported near Avenue I at 11:59 p.m. Wednesday, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Witnesses were being interviewed by officers, but details of what caused the crash were not immediately available.

Traffic was being diverted off the freeway at Avenue I, the CHP reported.

The age, gender and name of the victim were not disclosed.
