Man Barricades Himself in Indio Home For Several Hours

A man who had been holed up in an Indio home for over six hours surrendered to officers late Friday night, police said Saturday.

Members of the man’s family called police at about 4 p.m. Friday concerned about him after he’d gotten into an argument with a family member at a home in the 79450 block of Avenue 38, Indio police said.

The family members exited the home but the man remained barricaded until about 10:30 p.m. when officers gassed the residence, and the man came out and was taken into custody.

No injuries were reported.
