Woman found dead in Malibu Lagoon

MALIBU — Homicide detectives were investigating the death of a woman whose body was found Friday, Dec. 20, in the Malibu Lagoon.

Paramedics were sent to the 23200 block of Pacific Coast Highway on a report of a drowning at 12:49 p.m., according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Lifeguards determined that the woman was dead at the scene at 1:02 p.m., according to the fire department.

The name of the woman will be released pending notification of next of kin, according to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.

The name had not been released as of Thursday, Dec. 26.
