Metrolink train crashes into RV on tracks, igniting fire in Santa Fe Springs

Part of a Metrolink train burst into flames Friday morning after it hit an RV on the track in Santa Fe Springs, authorities said.
No injuries have been reported, according to sheriff’s deputies.
Police and Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies were at the site investigating the crash near Rosecrans and Marquardt avenues.

The fire was extinguished soon after the crash, which occurred at approximately 6 a.m. crash.
The charred vehicle sat on the tracks, with the end of the Metrolink train up against it with heavy burn damage.

The train was the Orange County Line 681 to Los Angeles and it had been running between Buena Park and Norwalk, according to Metrolink. Besides the 681, other lines were being affected. Metrolink officials said to expect delays.
