by City News Service

Authorities sought the public’s help Monday, Oct. 21, to find a hit-and- run motorist responsible for the death of a pedestrian in Pacoima.

The 60-year-old man was struck about 11:50 p.m. Saturday on San Fernando Road near Truesdale Avenue and died a hospital, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Authorities withheld his name, pending notification of his relatives.

According to police, the man had just gotten out of a parked vehicle and was crossing San Fernando Road when he was hit by a dark-colored vehicle — possibly a black Lexus SUV — that kept going. No driver description was available.

Anyone with information regarding the case is urged to call the Valley Traffic Division at 818-644-8115, or 877-LAPD-247.

A standing reward of up to $50,000 is in effect for information that helps police solve a fatal hit-and-run crash in the city of Los Angeles.
