2 Women Charged with Costa Mesa Restaurant Rampage

Two women were charged Tuesday with rampaging through a South Coast Plaza restaurant, with one of them — a former employee — using a baseball bat to vandalize the eatery.

Passion Shenay Coleman, 27, of Fullerton, is charged with single counts each of criminal threats, second-degree burglary, assault with force likely to produce great bodily injury and conspiracy, as well as two counts of vandalism causing more than $400 in damage, all felonies. Coleman, a former employee of Maggiano’s Little Italy restaurant, is also charged with misdemeanor counts of battery, assault, wearing a mask in a crime, brandishing a weapon and resisting arrest.

Laglennda Damona Carr, 24, of Fullerton, is charged with second-degree burglary, vandalism and conspiracy, all felonies, as well as misdemeanor counts of wearing a mask in a crime and resisting arrest.

The two are accused of going into the restaurant at 3333 Bristol St. on Saturday afternoon and vandalizing a TV, table settings and plates, causing thousands of dollars in damage. According to Costa Mesa police, the vandalism attack forced the restaurant to cancel its dinner reservations that night.

Coleman is also accused of showing up at the restaurant about 11:40 a.m. Saturday, when she allegedly made threats and hurled a plate at a restaurant employee before running away, police said.
