Firefighters quickly douse brush fire near large homeless encampment

LOS ANGELES — Firefighters on Sunday quickly knocked down a brush fire near a homeless encampment along the Foothill (210) Freeway in Shadow Hills.
The firefighters dispatched at 1:06 p.m. to the westbound freeway at Wheatland Avenue had the fire out within 15 minutes of their arrival, said Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
No injuries were reported and a cause of the fire was under investigation.
