A woman was dead and three people were injured after a shooting in Wilmington on Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 18, police said.
Los Angeles police officers were searching for a suspect who they believe shot at four victims in front of an apartment complex at around 3 p.m. on Bay View Avenue and Anaheim Street, Sgt. Bradley Hearn said.
“The suspect walked up and opened fire, shooting multiple rounds,” he said.
Authorities believe the suspect was a male, wearing a dark hoody sweater, Hearn said.
A woman, estimated to be in her early 20s, was declared dead at the scene when authorities arrived, he said.
A man was transported to the hospital in critical condition and a woman, with less serious injuries, transported herself to the hospital with a leg wound, he said.
An elderly woman was also grazed by a bullet, but was bandaged at the scene, Hearn added.
