1 Dead, 2 Critically Injured in Metro Bus Crash in Willowbrook

A man was killed and at least two other people were critically injured Sunday morning in a crash in the Willowbrook community of unincorporated Los Angeles County that witnesses said involved a Metro bus and five other vehicles.

Three other people suffered minor injuries in the crash at South Alameda Street and East 131st Street, according to a county fire department dispatcher. All were transported to area hospitals.

Firefighters and paramedics were dispatched to the scene at 2:11 a.m., he said.

Paramedics rushed a man to St. Francis Medical Center in Lynwood, where he died from his injuries, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Peter Nicholson.
