Crews rushed to battle a brush fire that slowly approached homes in Eagle Rock on Sunday, Aug. 25.

The fire burned through brush and light grass near the 2900 block of Colorado Boulevard, Los Angeles Fire Department officials said in a 4 p.m. statement. It led to the closure of all easbound lanes of the nearby 134 Freeway, as well a transition ramp from the southbound 2 Freeway, California Highway Patrol logs showed.

Smoke was visible from Dodger Stadium, and flames were seen slowly backing towards homes, prompting authorities to request additional resources, officials said in a 4:40 p.m. update.  A helicopter was dispatched to drop water on the fire as teams from the Los Angeles County and Glendale fire departments also responded to the blaze.

No injuries were immediately reported and no evacuations had been announced as of about 5 p.m.
