Pedestrian Hospitalized After Being Struck By Train in Coachella

A pedestrian was struck by a train in Coachella Saturday morning and was hospitalized with serious injuries.

Paramedics responded to Grapefruit Boulevard and Leoco Lane about 2:35 a.m. and located the injured person, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

The patient was taken to a hospital with serious injuries, the fire department said.

Details of what led up to the crash were not immediately disclosed and the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department was investigating the accident.

The name and gender of the injured person was not disclosed.
