10 suspected arson fires set in Studio City

STUDIO CITY — Some 10 arson fires were set Friday in the Studio City area, targeting vehicles and trash containers, police said.
The latest fire was reported at 6:15 a.m. in a trash container outside an office building at 11365 Ventura Blvd., said Nicholas Prange of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
“A string of fires … are being investigated as possibly linked together as a single arson case,” Prange said. “Fire companies are staying on scene of the various auto fires, rubbish fires, and this reported structure fire that turned out to be a dumpster fire behind the address.”
No injuries have been reported, and no structures have been damaged.
Personnel from the LAFD’s Arson/Counter Terrorism Section were assigned to the investigation.
