Deputy wounded in shooting at Lancaster sheriff’s station

Gunfire in a parking lot Wednesday, Aug. 21, at a Los Angeles County sheriff’s station in Lancaster left a deputy wounded.

The shooting happened in the parking lot of the station, 501 W Lancaster Blvd, at about 2:45 p.m., sheriff’s officials said. One deputy was transported to a hospital with a shoulder wound.

It was not immediately clear where the shots came from, and description of a suspect was not immediately available as of 3:30 p.m. Deputies asked people to stay away from the station, and were searching the area for at least one person.
