The attack was reported at 8:50 p.m. in the 400 block of Rosemont Avenue, near the Hollywood (101) Freeway and Alvarado Street, according to Los Angeles Police Department Officer Tony Im.
Paramedics took the victim to a hospital in unknown condition, Im said.
Witnesses reported the victim was unconscious and not breathing before paramedics arrived, he said.
Police were looking for two men who fled the scene in a white Toyota Camry, Im said. One wore a white hooded sweatshirt and the other a black hooded sweatshirt.
