Man Accused of Attempting to Rape Woman in Tustin

A 25-year-old Malibu man was arrested Thursday on suspicion of sexually assaulting a woman in her 60s in Tustin.

Quin Kalis Sheridan was booked on suspicion of attempted rape, kidnapping, sexual assault and elder abuse, according to Tustin police.

Police were called at 9:37 a.m. Thursday to Robinson Drive regarding the attack.

Sheridan was accused of forcing the woman to the ground and attempting to pull her pants off, police said. The victim struggled and despite the suspect putting his hand over her mouth she managed to scream for help, police said.

A witness dashed over to help the woman, shoving the suspect off of her and prompting him to run away, police said.

Police found Sheridan nearby hiding in a restroom and he was taken into custody without incident, police said.
