Parolee Accused of Bomb Threat Arrested

by Contributing Editor

A 60-year-old parolee arrested in Garden Grove was behind bars Thursday on suspicion of making a bomb threat.

William Joseph Peltier is accused of threatening to make an explosive device, but did not identify a target, according to Carrie Braun, the director of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department’s Public Affairs and Community Engagement Division.

The person he told about his intent to create the bomb called authorities and Peltier was arrested in Garden Grove Tuesday night, Braun said.

Peltier was booked Tuesday on suspicion of violating parole, possession of a controlled substance and possession of stolen property, according to Braun said.

The sheriff’s bomb threat responded to the alleged threat but no explosive devices were found in the suspect’s vehicle, Braun said.
