One person was found dead in a fire-damaged structure in the Fairfax District Wednesday morning.

Firefighters responded to 140 N. Vista St., south of Beverly Boulevard, at 3:03 a.m. and quickly extinguished a fire in a one-room back house, behind a one-story home, according to Nicholas Prange of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Crews conducted a search of the back house and found one person dead inside, Prange said. The age, gender and name of the victim were not disclosed.

No other injuries were reported and the cause of the fire was under investigation.
