Man Shot, Killed in Huntington Park

A man was shot and killed in Huntington Park Thursday.

Officers with the Huntington Park Police Department responded to a shots fired call in the 7000 block of Rita Avenue, northeast of the intersection of Florence Avenue and Pacific Boulevard, about 3:20 p.m., according to Deputy Marvin Crowder of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, which is assisting Huntington Park police with the investigation into the shooting.

Witnesses told officers the victim had sustained several gunshot wounds to the upper body and civilians took him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Crowder said.

The age and name of the victim were not disclosed.

A description of the shooter and a motive for the shooting were not immediately available.

Anyone with information on this deadly shooting was asked to call the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500.
